Equipment Requirements
BATTING HELMETS

ALL batting helmets are required to have a chin strap and face masks.
Pitcher Face Mask Mandatory for 2012 Spring Season

West Valley Girls Softball has made it mandatory for all pitchers to wear protective face masks. WVGS believes that this is a step in the right direction to protect our players.![]()
WVGS will supply one face mask to every team this Spring. Face masks are also available at your favorite Sporting Goods Store for those who would like their own mask.
WVGS thanks everyone for their support with this new mandatory rule.
Helmets and Face masks should have the following certification mark.

Jewelry Not Allowed

Remember, players are not allowed to wear jewelry during games. This includes earrings, bracelets, and necklaces. This is an ASA Rule. Umpires will not let any player play if they are wearing jewelry.
There is one exception, Medical Alert Bracelets. Per the ASA Rule Book:
"Medical alert bracelets or necklaces are not considered jewelry. If worn, they must be taped to the body so the medical alert information remains visible."
WVGS thanks you for your cooperation.
