Managers- To reserve a batting cage, follow these instructions:
1. Check the league calendar to find an open day and time.
2. Email your request to Lucky at lucky@wvgs.org 
3. Check the calendar to make sure you are on it.
4. Hit Away!!!

WVGS Mentor Program

 Purpose
To establish a mechanism for qualified minor girls to return to WVGS as approved and insured mentors/coaching assistants.

Requirements
Age: 13 – 17

Experience: must have significant softball experience, preferably at WVGS.

Insurance: Must be currently insured through ASA via an ASA-affiliated “A” or “B” program. If girls do not meet this requirement, they can be registered and insured through WVGS for a fee of $20.00.

Sponsor: Mentors must be sponsored by an approved Manager for the current Spring or Fall season. A form must be signed by the Mentor, Mentors Parent or Legal Guardian, and Sponsor prior to any involvement.

Team Assignment: Mentors shall be assigned to team made up of girls at least two years younger than them.

Approval: Mentor applications must be approved by the Division Coordinator, and the Head of Division Coordinators.

Duties
Mentors should be used in practice situations to demonstrate and teach softball skills and a positive attitude. Mentors may be used in games as dugout coach or base coach. If acting as a base coach, Mentor must wear approved batting helmet.

Limitations
A limit of two Mentors will be allowed per team.
Mentors are not allowed to operate pitching machines.
Mentors cannot use the WVGS facilities without the sponsor or sponsor’s adult representative in attendance.
Mentors use of WVGS facilities shall be limited to events related to the team to which they are assigned.
